Cherie's wedding quilt

Aah, the raw materials. 30 fat quarters begging to be composed into a quilt. My oldest daughter was married in 2003 and I'm finally getting around to making her a quilt. It's not entirely my fault. I had to pin her down as to what color. Yellow! It is yellow.

I had to use this shot because down in the lower left there are little Monster feet and you can just barely discern a quilted butterfly in the tannish piece lower center. Or maybe not.

ticker tape quilt

Just a little photo showing how my first quilting step is free motion quilting all around the edge before quilting into the center.
I had some pieces of fabric left over from my oldest daughters' wedding quilt(whole different entry) So I whacked them up and made a ticker tape quilt. Here you can see some construction details and you can also see the cute little doggy print that my friend Ann gave me.
( tutorial by Amanda Jean http://sewmamasew.com/blog2/?p=2311 ) I pinned the pieces to the quilt sandwich with straight pins.

Here is the finished quilt before being thrown into the dryer with a couple of wet towels.

Here is the quilt after it comes out of the dryer.
